Gashora Health Center
RW will ensure high quality health care at Gashora through a partnership with the Access Project and the Government of Rwanda. This partnership was made possible by critical funding from Harold Simmons and the Schmidt Family Foundation.
RW will support Gashora Health Center with infrastructure, equipment, medicine and supplies. The Access Project, which specializes in health management and training, will work with the health staff to meet Access Project management standards.
Previously, Gashora Health Center was under-staffed, under-funded and had scarce resources. Infrastructure was non-existent or in severe disrepair, with a lack of electricity, running water and adequate sanitary facilities.Construction on Gashora Health Center is well underway and the center expects to begin seeing patients in June, 2010.
